John works as the corporate chef for Eschelon Hospitality in Raleigh , North Carolina and previously in well-known Raleigh restaurants as Herons in the Umstead Hotel and Margaux’s in north Raleigh .
Born in Burlington North Carolina , Chef John Anderson is a native to this wonderful and vibrant state. With only short stints in Washington for some soul searching and Scottsdale , Arizona for training at Le Cordon Bleu culinary academy, he has called North Carolina his home for most of his life. Enjoying the four definitive seasons and plentiful bounty this state has to offer has been a boon in his life.
Cooking came naturally in his life as he grew up loving the idea of creating with his hands and providing these creations with family and loved ones. Chef John first started his culinary journey making 1000 island with his grandmother and then ‘graduated’ to her sous chef for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner at an early age. John has had a passion for creating alongside his friends and family for as long as he can remember. Still to this day, it is his vision to bring the care, kindness, pride and rewarding feeling his grandmother showed him into the kitchens of Raleigh where he lives and plays.
